You might think that after its busiest March in years, the Greater Boston Irish/Celtic music scene would collectively put its feet up and take a breather. Wrong. There’s plenty to enjoy in April, too.
More than 450 supporters and friends of the Irish American Partnership enjoyed St. Patrick’s Day festivities on Friday, March 17th. "This St. Patrick’s Day we support the people of Northern Ireland who next month commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement," IAP director Mary Sugrue said. "From all of this year's St. Patrick's Day Celebrations, the Irish American Partnership is providing grants to 25 schools across Northern Ireland." See more photos at tinyurl.com/27ne9f3e

Mr. James S. O’Brien, of Lowell, formerly of Scituate, died March 1, 2023. He was 84.
Jim was born on October 20, 1938 in New Haven, Connecticut. He grew up in Hamden. Hamden High school is where his lifelong passion for football began.
Jim attended Boston College on a full football scholarship. While there, he was a college All-American and was selected to play in the Optimist All-American Game and the Copper Bowl. He graduated in 1960 with a degree in business. It was here that he met many friends that would last a lifetime.
