Rian’s Civics 2022 event series with The Edward M. Kennedy Institute was a success!

Over the past few months, Rian was excited to collaborate with The Edward M. Kennedy Institute to offer a 2-part ‘Civics 2022’ virtual event series. In partnership with Irish Network Boston, attendees got to experience engaging and interactive sessions on ‘Shaping Voting Rights Legislation’ and ‘Real Life Civics: The Traditions and Norms That Drive U.S. Government’.

Both events were well attended by participants of all ages and lively discussions took place during the two sessions, which were of particular interest to the Irish Diaspora, given our active involvement in civic efforts.

We would like to extend our deep gratitude to all the wonderful staff at the Kennedy Institute for facilitating these events and for all the work that went into making them happen. Thank you also to Irish Network Boston for their partnership, and to the local Irish Consulate for their ongoing support and for the generous support from the Irish Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade: Emigrant Support Programme.

Coming up in May, we are delighted to facilitate in-person visits to the Kennedy Institute for three different groups from the Irish Pastoral Center’s Senior Program. We can’t wait to hear all about the visits and to see the photos! If you are interested in visiting the Kennedy Institute in person on an evening in June, please get in touch as we will have a date for this visit announced soon. For more information, or to get your name on the list, please email Ann-Marie at amariebyrne@riancenter.org.
