From RTE:
The head of forecasting at Met Éireann has said that Storm Brendan is on target and should clear the country this afternoon, as gusts of over 130km/h have been recorded.
More than 48,000 homes, farms and businesses have been affected by the storm, according to the ESB. It also says that the damage is mainly due to fallen trees on overhead lines because of high winds.
The counties most impacted by the power outages include Galway, Limerick, Kerry, Cork and Donegal.
