Bualadh BOSton, the annual Irish literary festival, will return this month with another accomplished lineup of writers and poets who will discuss their work in a series of three events at the Harvard Club on Fri., April 5, and Sat., April 6.
On Friday at 5 p.m., the festival’s first session will feature award winning novelists Mike McCormack and Alice McDermott. McDermott, a Brooklyn-based Irish American author, will read from and discuss her latest novel, “The Ninth Hour.” McCormack, of Mayo, will read from his 2016 novel “Solar Bones,” winner of the Dublin International Literary Award.
On Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock, the poets Peter Fallon and Aifric MacAodhao will read selections from “Calling Cards,” a new anthology of Irish-language poetry that they edited.
That session will be followed at 3 p.m.by a conversation between the memoirist Mary Cregan and former Irish archivist Catriona Crowe about Crowe’s memoir “The Scar: A Personal History of Depression and Recovery,” written after the death of her newborn daughter, Anna.
