BIR Celebrates 20 Years in publication

The Boston Irish Reporter will observe the 20th anniversary of publication with a Celebratory Luncheon on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Boston's Seaport Hotel/World Trade Center, with several hundred Boston Irish business and civic leaders.
The Boston Irish Reporter is one of the region's few remaining family- owned and operated publications and, in keeping with our own heritage, that day we will debut a new awards ceremony, the Boston Irish Honors, recognizing two Boston Irish individuals for their special achievements in public service and business, and three exemplary Irish families who share our common roots in Boston and Ireland. The inaugural honorees are: U.S. Congressman Edward J. Markey, John Donohue, CEO, Arbella Insurance, and three exemplary families: the Brett family, the Geraghty family and the Hynes family.
Attendees and sponsors at the luncheon will help to sustain a strong, vibrant and independent journal of Irish American culture for Boston and New England.
