In Weymouth, benefit hockey game to honor memory of Collette Murphy

Collette Murphy of East Weymouth was 44 when she passed away unexpectedly of a sudden illness in September, 2024, leaving behind her husband Paul and her 3 children Colin 18, Caoimhe 15, and Emma 13.

Collette was a dedicated and loving wife and mother, and her children's biggest cheerleader whether it be at the hockey rink, cheerleading competitions, or at the lacrosse field. She was well known as a quintessential Weymouth hockey mom with a sharp tongue and wit, never afraid to let you know what she thought but in her uniquely humorous and loving way. She also spent countless hours volunteering for activities and fundraisers while her children were students at Academy Ave School.

Collette was a beloved hockey mom, a native of County Armagh and a local committee of her family and friends are working to raise funds for the game at Connell Rink in Weymouth, MA  on Sunday evening, February 2, 2025.

All donations raised from this year's 7" Annual Weymouth Firefighters vs Weymouth Police Charity Hockey Game will be used to assist the family financially as they begin to navigate life without their wife and mother, and also to establish a scholarship fund in Collette's name at Weymouth Youth Hockey, which will be used to assist deserving in need families and children with participating in the youth hockey program in Collette's memory.
