The Éire Society of Boston will host a holiday reception and talk at Boston College's John J. Burns Library on Saturday afternoon, December 6, 2-4 pm - the feast of St. Nicholas.
Members will hear a presentation by Erskine Childers on the lives of his great-grandfather—the Irish revolutionary of the same name—author of the WWI novel Riddle of the Sands, who was later executed for siding with anti-Treatyites in the Irish Civil War, and his wife, Boston-born writer and Irish nationalist Molly Childers—a portion of whose personal papers are held by Burns Library.
Mr. Childers' presentation will be preceded and followed by coffee/tea and desserts reception in the Burns Library Irish Room.
