On International Women’s Day, Wednesday, March 8, 2023, The Ireland Funds Boston hosted its inaugural women’s event, Celebrating Women. Sisters of Irish descent, Rachael Splaine Rollins, U.S. Attorney, and Rebekah Splaine Salwasser, Executive Director of the Red Sox Foundation, participated in an intimate Fireside Chat moderated by Linda Dorcena Forry.

"The Ireland Funds Boston inaugural women's event, Celebrating Women, was a remarkable occasion to gather together and hear from two incredible women of Irish descent," said Sarah Page, The Ireland Funds Vice President of Development. "The candor of Bekah and Rachael in discussing their upbringing, Irish heritage, careers, and life’s challenges provided insight into the foundation and strength of their leadership. We are immensely grateful to them, as well as to Linda, for the chance to listen and learn together."

Following the speaking program, guests were invited to join John McMillan of Clonakilty Distillery who hosted a tasting of three of the Distillery’s finest whiskies.

The event was attended by local business leaders and friends of The Ireland Funds and marked the beginning of the St. Patrick’s Day season.

The mission of The Ireland Funds is to harness the power of a global philanthropic network of friends of Ireland to promote and support peace, culture, education and community development across the island of Ireland and among Irish communities around the world.
