Sunday, June 3
Full day of festivities. Kid’s activities
Sunday will be a full on day of activities for all the family. Music on two stages with GAELIC STORM taking the stage on Sunday evening. We will have all genres of Irish music - meet Ireland's top Blue Grass & Folk Group JigJam. Galway City's super trad group, "BackWest" will join us on both days. Local Irish dancers, and local musicians will keep the place jiggin away.
Kids activities will include a petting zoo, face painting, a visit with fairies Tinkerbelle & Zania in our enchanted forest, touch-a-truck, an Irish singalong with Michael Maloney in the kids tent, Irish dance workshop, arts & crafts, the Viking Ship ride for older kids and the firetruck carousel for the younger ones... and lots more.
On the grounds of the ICC we have an authentic thatched cottage - this will be the scene of “An American Wake". Step back in time with us as we say farewell to the young emigrants, drop by and have a drink, join in the sing-song, or dance. Our actors will be dressed in period. There will be many demonstrations, baking of bread, cutting of turf, making a cock of hay. Check out the Irish speaking pub - we'll teach you a cupla focal (couple of words). Lots to explore.
The Boston GAA will kick off their season with some hurling and football games. For those new to the sport - hurling is considered one of the fastest sports around.
Cupan tae in our TEA ROOM - located on the first floor of the main building. Home baked scones, brown bread and cakes served all day.
